We’ve already helped 140+ Southwark SMEs cut emissions and costs. Now we’re offering expert training and consultancy to help more organisations on their sustainability journey.

Businesses like yours keep our streets vibrant and our communities thriving. SMEs are the backbone of the economy, and together, you hold the power to lead the transition to net zero.

n 2024, the Southwark Climate Collective helped 140+ SMEs cut emissions, save money and improve business practices. We know SMEs want to act on climate but face real barriers – our first cohort showed that even small steps can deliver big savings.

In 2025/26, you can get involved through:

Carbon Literacy Training – build knowledge and confidence to act and gain accreditation.
Expert-led training – practical sessions on a range of sustainability topics.
Bespoke consultancy (for 20 selected SMEs) – tailored support with emissions monitoring, accreditation and marketing and communications.

Support will run from September 2025 to February 2026 and is open to all Southwark SMEs. Join the Southwark Climate Collective now and future-proof your business with practical skills to help you decarbonise.

Across the support and training offered, 25% of spaces will be reserved for Black, Asian and minority ethnic-owned/led businesses.

Free training for all Southwark SMEs plus bespoke consultancy available

Let us help you prioritise climate action! The three areas of support are open to all Southwark-based SMEs with fewer than 250 employees. Bespoke Consultancy is limited to 20 SMEs.

Bespoke 1-to-1 consulting support

20 businesses will receive up to 20 hours of one-to-one tailored support, to help them action priority items on their sustainability agendas.

Expert-led training sessions

These training sessions, delivered by a selection of specialists, provide a basic introduction to a range of topics, from championing sustainable travel at work to understanding carbon accounting and sustainability accreditations.

Carbon Literacy Training

Join one of our six full-day accredited Carbon Literacy Training sessions, covering climate change, carbon footprints, relevance to your life and work, and commitment to taking action

Workstream 1:
Bespoke consulting

• 20 hours of bespoke consulting for 20 selected SMEs
• SMEs focus on 1 of 3 areas:
- Scope 1, 2 & 3 Emissions Monitoring & Reporting
- Accreditations
- Communication & Markting

Workstream 2:
Expert-led training

• 12x 1-2 hour expert-led training sessions
• Mix of in-prson and online
• Accessible venues throughtout Southwark

Workstream 3:
Carbon Literacy Training

• 6x full-day, in-person accredited training courses worth £150
• Up to 3 employees per business may register per course
• Accessible venues throughtout Southwark
